Center fielder Jim Edmonds went deep and had 3 RBI as the Detroit Iron Gloves
beat the Langley Farm Team by a score of 10 to 5.
Edmonds provided much of the offense. He doubled which was good for two runs
in the 1st inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 49th of the
season) in the 4th inning and ripped a base-knock in the 7th inning. Detroit
banged out 13 on the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Kris Benson(10-10) who went 7 innings, allowing 5
runs. Mark Mulder(9-10) ended up with the loss. The Detroit ballclub's
record now stands at a division leading 89-61. With this loss, Langley has a
5-5 record of late, 74-76 overall.
